Do any of you carry "road salt" with you so when you get up in the morning so you can de-ice your steps (if they get icy)?

I guess I'm just wondering if any of you have fallen on your butt trying to get in and out of your truck?:biggrin_2559:

I have on more than one occasion gone to step out of my car and busted arse! :biggrin_25510: Pride definitely takes a hit....

No, only have to get out once anyway.

I get rid of any snow, and bust up the ice on my steps.

I've never fallen getting in and out of a truck. Never rush yourself, because that is when accidents will happen.

I almost did a half gainer at my other job. My foot slipped in cold diesel that was tracked on the deck. I caught myself with one arm still on the side bar. My boots had no-slip soles, too.

I bought a bag of ice melt like they use on driveways and kept it in my sidebox. Came in handy every now and then. A little common sense does too. As said above, 3 point stance, after the first time down, clean your steps off and watch your footing as you walk.

I slipped and fell on a clear sunny day. I was either getting out of the truck or going down my front steps.... No idea cause I can't remember. Got a nice concussion. I was on home time. I went grocery shopping, was putting supplies in the truck, and somewhere along the way hit my head. Was out of work a few weeks. Luckily no lasting effects expect I can't remember what happened. Can't remember the ambulance ride or the 3 hrs in the emergency room either.
Be careful!!! It doesn't have to be icy to fall....

I slipped coming out of the truck on a nice sunny day. I had a bag of trash, soda jug, and pee bottle in my hands.
