False log ticket on ELD?

Something just doesn’t seem right here. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t like dealing with DOT here but they aren’t that dumb. It should be pretty obvious that you’re a team and who was on duty.

it was not DOT . it was CHP. CHP has special division for motor carriers. DOT doesn't go to streets and do enforcement in cali.

 

I’m aware. I live in Cali. DOT is CHP here. Same thing. They patrol streets

 

dot is dot . chp is chp. they(dot) usually drive white vans or white sedans with cali exempt license plates. chp has black and white pickups with shelsl or suvs. DOT will knock your door for audit or to write a ticket for driving cmv with non active mc or usdot numbers. chp will stop you on streets and do inspections or will knock your door for bit inspection. they are different organizations. I live in cali too.

You’re misunderstanding here. When you roll through a jump scale, who do you see there? Pickups. That’s because they are California’s DOT. Yes the white vehicles are commercial also but so are the pickups.

 

I was under the impression that Cali didn't have dot. They had caltrans. And caltrans has nothing to do with Commercials. That's strictly chp's job.

 

California... isn’t that a communist country on the west coast that borders the United States? I’ve heard of that place.
