What is up with truck stops having fast food places instead of sit down restaurants? I used to love going down to the Flying J when I was living in Abilene, TX to get a good breakfast on Sat. morning. Now I'm living in Mountain Home, ID and all we have is a Pilot with an Arby's in it. There's no other 24hr restaurants in town except Jack-in-the-Box. What's a guy supossed to do when you are hungry at 3 in the morning. Do you all think it is better to have fast food or the traditional restaurant at the truck stops?
Fast food or sit down, what do you think?

Depends..if I'm in a hurry and want something lite, I go for the fast food! But if coming in late and havnt had a good meal all day, will opt for the restaurant and a big breakfast to sleep on!! Many 'truck plazas' have both!

Most of the time I will grab something quick in the morning, a sandwich at lunch, but at the end of the day I want to sit down and relax. I look for a place to have one hot meal before I shut it down for the night. Tonite it will probaly be the "garden of eden" out side od twin falls Id. exit 183 I belive. Have a good ride where ever you are!!

I don't go to Peelot or Loves bevause of this. I keep food on the truck for a quick bite and hit the Flying Dump or the T/A for a sit down....for some reason I am not a fan of the Iron Skillet....but I will still eat there over Pilot any day of the week.
