I'll tell you...if you drive 70 mph in an 11 hr run you can log 770 miles off you run 60 mph at 11 hrs 660 miles...now how is that not further faster I'm 110 miles down the road when you stop.

    the point is this

if you travel from NY to CA,, there is a cost savings in doing it at 60mph or 65, or 70

each difference saves money, if you have four days to get there, why not drive 60mph and save money in fuel vs driving at 70mph and using up about an excess of $500 for the trip

if you could save $500 in four days, isnt it worth it?

You're not going to save $500 or no where near it from driving slow. That just sounds stupid. You might save $5 dollars but you missed happy hour and another load back.

    2500 miles at 6mpg = 416gallons
    2500 miles at 7mpg = 357gallons

    difference 59 gallons at $4/gal = $240 or $60/day savings in fuel

I average 6.8 mpg doing over the speed limit. And if you are paying $4.00 for diesel something is wrong with that picture.

For the border jumpers, that's 90 pesos an hour, which can help feed 11 kids, seventeen relatives, and keep a roof over their heads... :biggrin_25512:
