B I N G O !!
You've hit the head right on the nail.
That's how the game is played,
and how to win at it.
Big truck truckin' is a business.
In business y'all gotta know when to hold 'em,
when to fold 'em and when to walk away.
If it ain't all about the money,
what is it about?
Gotta keep the wheels a-turnin' to make money,
and y'all gotta make money to keep the wheels a-turnin.
It's a never ending circle that goes 'round and 'round'.

You have no clue what my costs are so that argument isn't even worth having.
I agree with you, it is a business and is all about making as big of a profit as you can. That wasn't my point. My point was very simple, Prime's rates are cheap in comparison to most legitimate and upstanding trucking companies and or brokers.
Fact is that Prime doesn't need to make a dime in the actual movement of freight in order to generate a substantial profit. They make a fortune in the equipment fleecing game. Truth be known, I think it is a pretty brilliant business plan. Wish I would have gotten in on that (as an investor) from the ground floor.
I'm glad that you enjoy the taste of Prime's Kool-aid, and that you are happy there, that is all that matters in life.
With all of that said, Prime DOES haul cheap freight. -
Sorry - its a privately held company, and the man seems to be doing VERY well. Which is fine with me - I'd rather that he was making an EXCELLENT profit on his business than end up like the guys that got shafted by Arrow.
You BS about your $2.63 per mile load. Well buddy, I got you beat all to hell. How does $7.96 per mile sound to you? That's not cheap freight - nor is anything else I pull for Prime.
You drink the dollar-per-mile kool-aid all day long, just like the rest of the "Billy Bigriggers." That's the least important part of a trucking business. All of our costs are based on time - practically none on miles - unless you're one of those chumps with a 95-cpm plus fuel surcharge deal. Its about gross revenue to the truck per day, fixed costs per day, variable costs per day. You can pull all of the $2.63-per-mile freight you want - but if you only pulled it 10 miles you made $26.30. Not a very impressive haul.
You don't know my costs either - and I don't pull "cheap freight." So take your BS and shove it. -
One of these days you might choke on that Koolaid, have your rose color glasses fall off, and actually see the facts.
I have no interest in carrying on a conversation any further with one who is incapable of a true debate without getting overly defensive and stooping to childish tantrums. Good luck with your Koolaid drinking and cheap frieght hauling. You are now "ignored". -
Good. Couldn't have ended in a better way.
Gotta love when a supposed adult sticks their fingers in their ears, and starts screaming, "I can't hear you!"azcardnlz Thanks this. -
i was at prime 2 months ago they told me striaght up im to fat and im 6"2 310lbs.
so i went home to lose the weight then i thought to myself let me see whats out there . now i lost the weight but im at barr nunn now they treated me very good in Orientation and 2 other lease o/o was here from prime so i guess i made the right decison -
What about the supposed adults that can't leave the personal insults alone?
How many times do we have to say it????? mock the points of discussion if you must, but don't attack the poster.
Its time to stop the personal attacks (who ever is doing it) and get back on topic, or the thread might be shut down for a cooling down period.

Good luck man! Hey - keep working on the waistline - its a never ending battle for me.
Keep in mind, not everyone is meant to succeed trying to run a biz in this biz. Part n' parcel of the independent contractor definition is the right to fail spectacularily - as well as the right to make some money. -
After checking for 2 days with all my produce shippers, I then went to a few Oversized shippers and talked to them but I could NOT get above a $5 a mile load! That was OD only! Except for Windmill wings who work mainly with their hauling companies, you would not be doing any of that.
WHERE are you finding this goldmine load? I'd LOVE to broker agent a few of those and take a small 5% of that! Heck a few of the drivers out there struggling could use a little of that also! Where is this yellow brick road you're driving on???
IP, sometimes you do make good points but at other times you plant your foot so far down your throat that you're kicking yourself in the arse! Quit trying so freaking hard to kiss Lowes arse because if he were to stop suddenly you'll be up to your shoulders in that dark place! Give the cheerleading up as we get it...well, almost as this gets so funny at times!
Now back to the original thread....Something about a BMI and Prime discriminating against fat people!SweetSouthernRide Thanks this. -
Why should I tell you where "that little gold mine" is? Suppose we start with all of the crap you throw my way - and then wonder why I might not be interested in letting you know?
