Cutoff BMI for hire at Prime is 39. Sleep study is required for 35 and above. BMI is a different number than Body Fat Content, which is expressed as a percentage.

Let's put this into perspective: I will address women since that seems to be the focus here. "Normal" BMI and BFC for women are 18.5 to 24.5 and 24% to 30% respectively. BMI does not take BFC into consideration. Just ask any NFL linebacker. BMI works from the average throughout the general population. That means the average woman with a BMI of 24.5 will have a body fat content of 30%. If you are the average woman and you have a BMI of 37 (two points under cutoff for Prime) that means your BFC will be around 50%. That, my friends, is obese.

Where on Earth did Injun get this information? From the Navy, which goes off Body Fat Content. I always had a hard time making weight. I am 5'4" and 142lb. However, when my BFC is measured using a tape test, I come in at around 22%, well under regulation. I was a swimmer and power lifter in a previous time and the propensity toward retaining muscle tissue vs. fatty tissue has stuck with me over the years. But I am not average.

Note to Ms. Nana: I will call you anything you like, as you, ma'am, are not average either.

Flatbed: I did not say 6'2" and 295 was normal. I meant to say that is the cutoff for Prime to hire you. Had a male friend run into a hitch because of this. He's 6'2" and was 315lb at the time. No hire.

I found myself in that boat quite a bit, I for some reason did not grow as tall as my dad and brothers, at 6'1" im the short guy in the family.

When I was in the Navy I could run 10 miles, was doing all kinds of pushups, situps, and getting a ton of excercise, but because I did not fit in the height weight scale they always had to tape me.

I was 245lbs and about 10-12% body fat.

    One more thing... OOH-RAH NAVY!
