FAT people are Discriminated against at prime

Look at it from Prime's viewpoint. They are going to teach/train you for one month while you get your CDL then run you team for 4-6 months with 'guaranteed pay'. If you leave after 6 months your CDL costs $1750, you stay for a year it's free. They're investing a lot of time and money into your development. It would be irresponsible of them to let people progress through the program that propably can't get a medical card or otherwise are unlikely to be able to finish the program. They are a company - the entire purpose of Prime's existence is to MAKE MONEY. These pretests are a pain but it saves the company MONEY which then in turn means Prime could pay their employees more (I like my fantasy world).

It's a fact that the more overweight a person is the more likely it is that they have or will develop sleep apnea - which can and does impact one's ability to do everyday tasks. Call me selfish - I don't want people who are in cronic sleep debt driving next to me.

Back onto topic: Look, we big girls, we fluffy girls, we overweight girls can say we're "chubby, fluffy, chunky, whatever" but if we're overweight then we're overweight. The least we can do is stop lying to ourselves about it. 5'6" and 250lbs is not chubby. That's almost two people. And Prime or ANY company has the right to say they want potential employees to have a study done to make sure that they don't have sleep apnea. Now, not all people with sleep apnea are overweight but the majority are. If my company comes and says I need the study done........guess what? I'm getting the study done. Hopefully I'll have lost this weight before they add that requirement.

The only reason I can think of as to why any doctor in his or her right mind woulod say you're underweight is you carry fifty pounds on your chest. I find that extremely unlikely. How's your back?

 

Well then perhaps y'all should consider a company that isn't using the BMI indicator yet.

I agree to a point since they dont test everyone for sleep apnea and they should just to cover there backs.I have been at prime since may and have sleep apnea diagnosed by there doctor.I was told I had to take a sleep test if I wanted to continue and after some thought and talked it over with my wife I decided to take the test($125.00) if you dont have it. I do have it and had to put $300.00 down and they take out $55.00 a week out of my check until its paid, to be honest I was very skeptical about it and have since changed my mind, I LOVE MY CPAP MACHINE i sleep so well with theres not a night that i will sleep without it.so if you are serious about driving you might as well get in front of this as more and more companies are testing for it.A lot of it pertains to lack of sleep by drivers and the accidents it causes why wouldnt you want to sleep well if you could? especially if your are driving a 80,000 pound truck? this is not like working a desk job if you fall asleep nothing bad happens. in a truck if you fall asleep while driving.....
