What a way to die in your sleep hopefully he didn’t wake up to see the vehicle that ran him over. I wonder if codriver just came off the shoulder in front of the other truck. RIP driver

Depends. Some use a combination of steel and composite in their construction. Most if not all KW T-680s use composite/fiberglass side panels but the rear of the cab, along with side box doors use steel or aluminum.

And this right here is why i refuse to team drive with anyone but my dad. Imgaine having a nice dream one moment when the idiot driving pulls this and your suddenly in pain flying through the air then flattened and in agony for the last few seconds of your life never to understand what happened.....

    Hard pass.

says the truck was moving "slower" in the right lane.

    how slow...."the speed limit slow"

4 ways on limp mode slow..??

how fast was the other truck going..?? 10, 20, 50 mph's faster than the speed limit?

    details left out.

but in the end, co-driver should have been strapped or belted or caged in the sleeper

I understand vehicle crases are brutal , maybe more than most . that truck peeled open like a nanner . Maybe they can concentrate more on driver protection that doesn't rely on more dumb ### electronics . Try a structural engineer and not a computer engineer.

May I offer another speculation, courtesy of my cynical side? Perhaps he was one of those who, when stopped on the shoulder, pulls out into a lane of travel rather than using the shoulder to get up some speed before merging into the lane.

Again, this is pure speculation on my part, but I wouldn't be surprised if that's what went down.
