Fault code 98

    06 pete with a cat motor had this come up twice today can someone tell me what it is?

    Not sure if I remember correct. Maybe someone else can confirm.

    It's what's refered to as a ghost code. We had the same issue with Cat engines when I was with CFI. And I'm wanting to say, it was a 98 code.

    Nothing to be concerned about. Although there may be some additional underlying issues that haven't produced a valid code yet.

    does the engine derate, usually the 90's fault code #'s are acuator codes i think 98 is for the oil press sensor in the rocker-box (just above thermostat housing) my truck had code 98 before but it has been a while and that ACERT piece of $h!t has had several problems
