I have a 2006 Volvo VNL with a Cummins ISX 10SPD. Recently my elog started showing me that i have an Engine sync Malfunction and i am throwing a code MID 144 PSID230 FMI12. Anyone had this issue before? Please help i tried everything. I cleaned all of my battery terminals and batteries are new. I even took apart the main harness on the firewall and had all the connecting pins replaced. Im about to get fired because my elog is in non-compliant status

Found 2 things related to your problem. Sounds like you addressed the first one.
The fault code MID 144 PSID230 FMI12 is related to the Vehicle Electronic Control Unit (VECU) in your Cummins engine. It indicates that the control unit is not receiving messages over the SAE J1939 data channel 12.

According to a post on TruckersReport.com, this fault code can be caused by an open circuit for the power supply for the VECU. The main cab pass-thru connector should be checked for any defects, and all pins should be present and free of corrosion 1.

In the case of MID 144 PSID230 FMI12, the FMI code 12 indicates that there is an internal hardware failure in the Vehicle Electronic Control Unit (VECU), which is caused by a bad intelligent device or component 2.

    MID 144 PSID 230
    Parameter:

    Software failure

FMI 12 Serious software malfunction and software restarted. Software error or strong electromagnetic interference. Reprogram the vehicle control unit first, if the fault persists, replace the vehicle control unit.

We had major issues using motive elog recently it caused 10s of thousands dollars to the boss who kept repairing trucks . When mine went haywire I disconnected the elog and rebooted problems went away for awhile . After motive sent correct update all is fine again.. can your shop read ecm properly?? If so it may be elog itself.

    JB7 Thanks this.
