Hi guys,
Hey just for fun who are some of your guy's favorite truck fleets could be from today or back in the day. At least top 3 or 4 will say
I'll go first:
My first choice and this may seem bias, but anything classic Gordon Food Service meaning pre 2015, but early 2000's Volvo's drop axles weird converter dollies 28' trailer mania GFS has a history of cool unique equipment:

Second:
Dillard's (Fort Worth Carrier Corp)
http://www.hankstruckpictures.com/pix/trucks/jr/2012/12-16/img_0913.jpg
Huge doubles operation that's all they really pull and single axle full sized sleepers pulling doubles Dillard's is kind of in a league all there own. There fleet is defiantly interesting.
Third:
Meadowbrook Meat or MBM corp.
MBM has an interesting logo I like it, they have 48' trailers with lift gates, but the company has a whole mix and match gaggle of equipment, some of it good and some of it not so good... either way though I like how every MBM truck no matter what DC it's out of right on the trailer it says MBM Rocky Mount, NC you don't really see that to much with big customized food distributors.

MBM always has interesting equipment.
Fourth this is from the OTR segment:
Jim Bender trucking there a small time outfit, but they run I guess older Kenworth's haven't seen them around here in a while, but I do believe they are still in business small time company maybe 40 trucks not sure from Omaha, Nebraska

Also while were at it on the OTR part 5th:
Conley Transport from Searcy, AR a small time outfit, but cool logo (almost looks like Pilots logo) any how cool company with really nice trucks:

Then 6th Decker from Ft. Dodge, Iowa

Then Last but not least
Conway South Eastern Express:

I like the green what can I say.
Alright I'm all done your turn.

Don't have time right now to get into it whole hog ,but
1) Gully Transportation; i just like Michael Gully's whole approach and atmosphere. The idea of continually dropping motors into a truck vs. buying a new one is right up my alley!
2) Overnite/UPSF-----of course.....
Much more later. -
Jim bender Inc ...I'm ex jbi ...best paying gig in Omaha .
Highlights are they pay 50cts a mile and insurance is paid for the driver
.
Home every week without fail! And a set schedule knowing what days you will be off .
Downsides is older equipment and and can't run the toll roads .
The east coast drivers are who make the money there .
Equipment is older but well maintained
Good people to work for !Mike2633 Thanks this. -

Did you mean best, for fun, like the worst? Because I don't think my laptop has enough memory for that. So many of the good companies I knew of are gone. However, years ago, you could tell, most of the good companies ran Peterbilts.

Oh yeah Jim Bender still doing it. Seen two of them at McLane in Longmont CO last week. Brown creamy colored t600 Kenworths. Kluk kluk.
Mike2633 Thanks this. -
If we're simply talking aesthetics, I've got a few in mind.
Disclaimer: some of these companies I know nothing about, I just liked the way they looked.
First and second place obviously belong to the company I'm with, and the company I started with in 1995. Providence Health and Services
The original Viking Freight System logo (RIP-there are many of us who after FedEx bought us out remained Vikings is spirit. We set a standard of service to the customer that FedEx can only dream of, if they cared to. But I'm not bitter...)
Brown Line. Simple, clean lines

And yet another that I briefly worked for. Gene's Towing. Not that you ever want to see one from any company, but at least these guys look sharp, and they're the best in the area.
Sorensen. It's pink, but it's appealing nonetheless.

LindaPV, G13Tomcat, Mike2633 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Clearly, this is going to be a regional thing, but the union company I worked for, Brownberry bread, ( which I think is Bimbo Bakeries now
) was a great company, ( and the union crybabies killed that), Buchan Trucking, out of East Troy Wis. (gone) A&H, out of Footville, Wis ( I think they're gone too), several of the Green Bay companies, and we can't forget Arbiture Trucking, out of L. Mills, Wis. ( see avatar, that was me, gone) was the best of the best.
skinnytrucker, Mike2633, bzinger and 1 other person Thank this. -
