When I originally got into this I was going to work for either Melton or US Xpress, but ended up doing neither LOL! Instead I ended up at Sup Bev Grp.

My 1st year driving I met a Jevic driver taking a break. When he told me how much they made those drivers instantly became my heroes!

I met a CF driver early in '92, nearly passed out when he told me what he made the previous year. He was MY hero, lol.

I believe in '92, during the hey-day of my trucking career, "Buster Brown" was the highest paid drivers. I think they were making almost $28/hr. with benefits. I thought I was doing ok at $15.50, and I was. I think the freight haulers were right up there too.

UPS Parcel is still the highest paid, at least from what I see. The CF guy I met was a road driver and he made $72,000 in '91, it took me a long time to make that kind of money.

SR, you're on the money at $15.50 in '92.....I was making $15 hr that year too and it was good money.....Likely if you would double that now, it would be about right.....

LindaPV, 201 and Mike2633 Thank this.
