When I first got my present FL Cascadia, it had an intermittent problem with momentary power drop offs. Gauges would sweep, CB would illuminate…the whole gamut of things indicating a pretty straightforward issue.
Stopped by a small dealer one day unannounced and told them of the problem.
“We don’t have time…it’ll be three days…” blah, blah, blah.
I told them it’s not a “plug in the scan tool” problem. It’s a loose connection….somewhere. “OK, I can get a guy to give you 15 minutes for a quick look”

Tech comes to me ten minutes later with his cell phone. On it is a picture of a battery connection…sans bolt.
Gotta love our high tech world.

Wiring was probably a little bit corroded already and they did all the work on it probably broke some wires in the process along with not tightening them up all the way.

Exactly what I figure. Especially already knowing the front harness was left loose... problem is with that Omaha shop, there open till midnight, (which is great, don't get me wrong) but that leaves room for a lot a shift changes, a lot of lunch breaks, and a lot of different techs working on it. One guy starts something, another guy picks up from there thinking the other guy finished something he didn't.... ordinary I think they run smoother, but I think it was a combination of new techs/ short staffed. At least with this place here only open one shift, ya wouldn't think there'd be as many opportunities for that, .....but.......

He already told me plan on 2 days this time, so I'd be surprised to be rolling before Thursday

It's not uncommon for customer's to ask for a certain tech or only one tech to work on their vehicle. Just know that the service could take longer, but if you come to trust one guys ability it could be worth it.

We should maybe make a note of the best mechanics to take a truck to know where they are and get some quality work done.

Impaired Powertrain Function sounds like a DT12 AMT issue where the engine/transmission actively communicate, but yours is a 10speed manual. Interesting.

Ya, my first boss out of college had his ballooning pilots license and I would “volunteer” to help him crew. It was fun. Good reason for people to get together for a fun activity … and then drink after… lol

That was in Danville IL (East of Champaign-Urbana) and they hosted the Oldsmobile Balloon Classic there for a few years. It’s a fun (mostly) family friendly event.

But ya, the one in Albuquerque is on my bucket list.

They say that with the box canyon in that area they can go in circles. Go up, go east, go down, go west, go up, rinse, repeat.
