The level of stupidity out here anymore never ceases to amaze me. I'm driving across I 70 in Missouri today, I come up on a day cab pulling a trailer with a roll up door, he hits a bump, and his door comes unlatched, stuff starts falling out of the back of his trailer. I try and get him on the CB, of course no answer, so I get next to him and start laying on my air horn, the guy is still oblivious, I look over and he's wearing a set of Bose type headphones, texting on his phone. Finally, the idiot looks over at me, and I tell him his door is open, and his freight is falling out behind him.
Maybe it's just me, but it used to be the four wheelers I worried about, but truck drivers are getting just as ignorant. In the last two weeks I've seen drivers watching movies on a tablet driving down the road, a driver in heavy traffic with his foot on the dash, and this genius today.

Dropped in Shelby, Iowa this morning, my truck was due for its inspection, so I swung through the Council Bluffs yard, got that taken care of and did laundry. Went over to Omaha and dropped and hooked on a preloaded trailer going to Spartanburg, SC for Sunday Morning. It's a "hot" load, I'm supposed to call the receiver when I'm 30 minutes out and he will come in on a Sunday and live unload me. From there I'm bouncing home for an unexpected night at the house. I'm pre planned on a load Monday that loads in Spartanburg going to Toledo. Have a safe weekend.
Vic Firth Thanks this. -
