I’ve been driving a T680 since it was new. It had 32 miles on the clock. As new trucks go, it’s been dependable and only minor issues. My only gripe was the drivers seat. Like all new trucks they are cheap and rely heavily on foam. After 120,000 miles it was all I could do to get 600 miles in with frequent stops and a gel cushion. Once again FCC steps up, and they installed an aftermarket seat that is fantastic. I can’t say enough good about this company and it’s shop. If anyone is thinking of moving, this place is tops.

So what’s your opinion on that Paccar engine as far as pulling power and downtime?

I can tell you from my experience with the paccar engine i have I will never own another one ever...Way too many emissions problems on this motor and the level of service at the Paccar dealerships is an absolute laughing stock joke you can expect to be in the shop for 1 to 3 weeks...I’m speaking this from experience...And as far as pulling power I had better pulling power with the Detroit than I have with this motor

I’ve been impressed from day one with the pull and power overall. My bet is you have a manual??

What does having a manual have to do with it?..

I had a manual T680 and it drove completely different. All the computers and sensors are made for auto. Those little dots in your rpm gauge are the sweet spot. If you shift manually outside those higher or lower the power band is diminished. I don’t like an auto much, but it pulls and I routinely average 8 plus mpg

That is awesome. With my company, I have one of the old POS Macks that locals drive. They did install an aftermarket seat, but it was a very cheap one. And the (dang it I forgot the word!) doesn’t keep air in the seat to lift the seat up. I would go home with a backache, head and neck ache and hip pain every day. I haven’t been at work since December 26th and I haven’t had any problems or woken up in the middle of the night with a headache so bad that I want to throw up.

That’s a lot of time off! I’ve walked from jobs because of equipment like you’re talking about, that’s why FCC is a breath of fresh air, Someone actually listens!!

The time off is due to moving my mothers things because I sold her place and now am sick (whether from the grief of it all or an actual illness has my doctor a bit confused). I have welcomed the reflection time, though. I am feeling a bit better, just not quite ready to get back to the BS.
