Once unloaded here in Corrine I have to bounce a few miles back over to Ogden and pick up a preloaded trailer going to Milwaukee for a live unload Monday before 1400. It looks like I have a window to get back across Wyoming today before the winds start blowing again Sunday. My goal is to make it to Sydney tonight.

Dropping at Ellabell Monday morning... this load had an extra whole day on it and I just took a 34 but I’m not complaining... I’ll get to visit with my daughter in Savannah today so it will be awesome.

I’ve been pleasantly surprised just how often I’ve been able to be on a load that has a bit of time on it but driving close enough to family to stop and sneak in a quick visit. We don’t really live on one of our lanes so I don’t really get to drive by the house but I do get the opportunity to visit my mom in central illinois and my daughter in Savannah so it’s a decent trade off... but I suspect my wife disagrees... lol

    stay safe

Hope you made it across. I’m just going to ignore 80 for a bit and run 90 or 40. Getting annoying that they don’t even let drivers chain, they just shut it off.

Well it will be closed until Tuesday morning both directions because of winds reaching 80mph.

I’ve noticed when they post those big numbers, the sensors say they’re on it. I think often the 60 mph gusts sign is to get guys to park. But as you know, some of our loads are white knucklers in 35/40 mph.

And I worry about 20 mph winds going through Fancy Gap and Galax VA with less than 4500 lbs in the box. So I crossed I40 to avoid a blowover. Last time, I crossed, four other trucks blew over and I just don't trust my luck anymore.
So, I left the house Saturday morning, picked up in Lumberton and dropped my load of magic brooms in Joliet IL. Waited an hour at the gate as security was short two people. Note to self. Avoid Sunday drops here.
Got my empty taking to Jefferson WI and dropping and rescuing a load in nearby Johnson Creek taking it to Crete NE for tomorrow.
