FCC--Fremont Contract Carriers

That is true for company drivers, they are paid the same all miles. Not so for lease and O/O, we only make.92 cents for empty miles. As a company driver I remember a couple of times deadheading from Cheyenne and Denver all the way back to Aurora!.. that was great as a company driver, would never do it now lol

 

I didn't know we had any customers in Victorville. I have picked up at a place in Barstow once, just a couple parking spots that FCC rents at a industrial place.

Were you at the Love's in Kingman? That's a decent enough place, unless you are getting fuel. About 80% of the time, when I go there it is a #### show.

 

Well, the 3 weeks experiment was cut short.

More like jinxed.

First I was to pick up the better half and be OTR together for three weeks and return for Election Day. That was interrupted by Truck Issues and a 2.5 week delay while the truck was in the Dealership.

So we got OTR a bit late but still planned on still three weeks out and back for Thanksgiving. That was cut short with her father needing Heart Surgery so then we were planning to get back the weekend before and then she would be there for the surgery and thanksgiving while I headed back for the Company Dinner.

Then her dad went to get a Second Opinion and during the exam with the second doctor things seemed much much worse, so the two doctors talked and moved the surgery up to today.

Luckily we were already heading to Four Oaks and I was able to get her home late last night after the DnH there. So it was a bit unplanned but still worked out as now we don’t have to be coming back here next weekend.

I am starting to think someone is telling us this isn’t a good idea or something… LOL

I’m back OTR this morning. Picking up a load of silica (?) in Columbia SC then heading back up to Minneapolis MN.

But it was a nice 10 days having someone in the truck. Pros & Cons

No formal update from the Doctor but the Nurse said there were no complications… so I guess that’s good news.
