Did you really stop 5 times on that load? When I got sent things like that, I would skip the ones that made zero sense and fill at the last stop. One of the most aggravating aspects @ FCC was Fuel Solutions.
I would guess you have dual 120gal tanks and every truck I've ever driven the fuel guage is "dummy proof" so that it reads empty with 40+ gals remaining. I drove a Cascadia 100+ miles with the fuel light on and when I stopped to fill I stil had a 25gal cushion.

I also have gotten some werid fuel solutions lately.

The “dummy proof tanks” is probably what I’m hitting with smaller tanks than I expect. So if that’s the case, then in that moment, tanks readings might be right.
and yes, I skip the occasional stop as well but I look at it as a good excuse to actually get out of the truck and stretch my legs too so unless I’m short on time, I’ll stop and fill. I take a stretch and the company gets their cheaper fuel.
I try to make it a win/winIH9300SBA Thanks this. -
Replying to the Fuel Tax issue, it’s come up in the past on this thread and I appreciate those with knowledge of the issue sharing their thoughts about the sign on the street being misleading about the “fuel cost portion” of fuel vs taxes.
I had not thought about it before but it makes sense that States with lower road/sales taxes might actually be costing a Driver more for the actual fuel.
And that if Road Taxes are simply prepaid until filed that the taxes portion may not matter so much. But even then Sales Taxes might come into play as well.
So both aspects/views have value and I appreciate those with more direct experiences sharing their thoughts. -

The shop said that an auto update didn't take on my unit and they had to plug into it directly and do the update manually.
That did fix the issue.Last edited: Dec 12, 2022
MidWest_MacDaddy and IH9300SBA Thank this. -
But any time I hear a driver say “I need to stop and get some of that cheap Missouri fuel before I get into Illinois,” I don’t think they understand the whole ifta thing.intrepidor and IH9300SBA Thank this. -
Came outta the house on Friday with a load from Apex Tools in Burlington NC. My appointment was 3pm. Arrived at 245. Backed into the door and waited and waited. They loaded my trailer between 5 and 6pm. Then stopped. I go into check and they still have 30 pieces to pick, that it might take 2-3 more hours. I go back to the truck and relax some more. At 9pm the manager comes out and says,I can't finish your load tonite. I gotta send my guys home so they can be back by 7am (Saturday). Ok. Bobtail to the Peelot in Haw River (5 miles away) park and go to bed. Get up go grab Dennys for breakfast, then head back over there at 9am. Check with the mgr. Still working on it, another half hour or so. Thanks for your patience. At 10, he comes and gets me to sign the paperwork. 1800 pieces 30 pallets 35k lbs. Load supposed to go to Topeka KS. Didn't check the delivery address. Get to the gate at Topeka.
Guard says, sir this load is not supposed to deliver here and he showed me then address. REDLANDS CA. Compared the pickup/BOL #. They don't quite match. These bozos loaded the wrong load in my trailer, not the number I gave them. I call dispatch and let her know. Nothing they can do today as its Sunday. So parked at Topeka service plaza and wait to see what they find out tomorrow.FML! First time for this. Should have looked at the bills more closely. After waiting 20 hours, I just wanted out of there. Dang!cdavis188, 48Packard, MidWest_MacDaddy and 3 others Thank this. -
