Delivering at Walmart DC in Red bluff, California this morning. Then I’m dead heading 171 miles to Klamath Falls, Oregon to pick up a pre loaded trailer going to Southern Illinois for a delivery on Tuesday morning. Nice 2300 mile run.

There are days when I question my choice of a career, today wasn’t one of them. I rolled out of Klamath Falls just as the sun started to rise this morning headed up to Bend Oregon. Wow, what an amazing drive. I rolled past this one meadow and there was a layer of ground fog hovering low over the meadow, with at least 20 deer and elk grazing as dawn was breaking. Mornings like today is why I love what I do.

So they announced an additional pay raise for O/O and L/P drivers yesterday, the third increase in five months. Company drivers also got an additional increase. If freight volumes and rates keep increasing hopefully it won’t be the last one.

I picked up a preloaded trailer this morning in Addison, Illinois going to Nebraska for a drop tomorrow. I’m in Des Moines watching the new Scicario movie.

I know this that if the wait time continues I’ll be a gone ###. Don’t make a difference how much per mile when your sitting 6+ hours at a whack.

Where are you waiting @? I have only been held up longer than two hours once in the last 6 months, and that was last week at Walmart DC?

I have a different experience on the long haul fleet, talking to other drivers that run the SW fleet they do seem to have some longer wait times. A guy I talked to other day had a screwed up experience at a grocery DC in Amarillo last week.
