What do they ask you to do for it? The agility test I mean.

Pick up some moderate weight off the floor and put on a shelf, simulate pulling a fifth wheel, simulate rolling up landing gear. They have autos and 10 speed manuals. I believe you have to get a new medical certificate from the doctor they use, and it was a urine test when I went through orientation, I would suggest speaking with a recruiter to get the up to date info.

Hey fellas, new CDL grad here. I plan to be out there 3+ months at a time. Live in the truck. Want to drive 8 to 9 hrs a day consistently so I dont have to reset. Will FCC be a good place for that to work out? Also how much can I expect to make a year there?

I'm really sure FCC doesn't take CDL grads. I think it's 2 years of experience. The ads I've seen are that way unless it changed.

In most cases they won’t take new CDL grads, but they do have two people that train. I would call recruiting and ask them. I know when I went through orientation the following week the had someone coming in that was fresh out of school, so they must make exceptions.

It’s the driving 8-9 hours a day he might have trouble with.

    Not likely to happen?

Yes they do hire new grads. I know that for sure.

I’ll let runningman explain it. Let’s just say a drivers sleep/rest cycle is predicated on the load you have on.

I know a couple of guys that only run 8 to 9 hours a day and never burn up their 70, on the long haul that’s pretty feasible, none of our freight on the long haul fleet has super tight delivery times. The customer always comes first, so that will dictate if you have to run longer.

As a new driver I don’t know what starting pay would be, but if you plan on staying out for months
at a time, I would think $50K would be doable with achievable bonuses.
