If....you should somehow have to completely "bail"....to that extent -- the MAIN THING a driver's needs at that point on him or her is AT LEAST ONE GOOD WORKING CREDIT CARD.

To travel hassle-free now....whether it's car rental, booking an airline ticket, a hotel room, or a bus fare -- I pity the fool (thank you, Mr T :p) who has to go about without serious plastic firepower.

Booking most all the above is FAR MORE DIFFICULT NOW.....without a good credit card.

Okay I just spoke to the recruiter at TDI. He said that it's sporadic who comes to the school to recruit. Me mentioned Melton, Werner, and Swift by name but he also said that there are about 30ish different companies that come and recruit out of the school. He also said that they have working relationships with all of them so if a specific company isn't there at the school then I can fill out the applications and TDI will send it to the recruiting managers with the TDI endorsement for the students that are in good standing with the school.

Luckily I'm not worried about the credit card stuff. I currently have 4 credit cards all with a zero balance. I have $5200 in total credit. I recently paid all the balances to zero and don't plan on using any of it unless I absolutely need to.

I reached out to Schneider via texting from their main website and it appears that I was just talked to a chat bot. They couldn't answer any of my questions. The only thing the chat told me is that I would get extra pay after being hired for my military experience. But that experience wouldn't waive the 3 months exp criteria. I'm certain that I can prolly get more info if I talked to an actual recruiter which I will call on Monday.

And yet the military is populated by stupid peoples— mostly the rank of O-5 and above— get hired on somewhere and be a sponge— soak up everything and don’t say much — you already have what most don’t so make it work for you— nuth’n to it but to do it— good luck man

Yeah I can't argue the stupid part at all. Consequently that's the primary reason I got out after almost 13 years, my severe lack in confidence of the upper echelon of military leadership.

I do have the mentality to succeed even if I have to suck up something that I'm not cool with. Because I know that I'll be solo eventually and doing things my own way with everything not directly driving related.

Well— they’re be a lot that won’t be cool with and you won’t be able to do things totally your own way— but that’s about the way it is anywhere you go and anything you do

I specifically meant not being cool with the mannerisms of the trainer I get stuck with lol. The driving related stuff is a completely separate issue. Those will be easier to deal with that dealing with a nasty ### trainer that does not adhere to basic hygiene standards haha!

I went about 22 days without a shower out in the IO — so did the other 3000 souls aboard—once and lived — betting that you have to at some point— don’t get to hung up on that if you can learn

Yes your concerns are valid however not all trainers are the types one hears about on the news via Youtube or even in Truckers Report, this is usually a small portion of the many thousands of trainers that do a great job at training and are good to get along with. Just hope you get one of these with you when your training all the best mate.
