Some trucking companies let drivers keep their car at the terminal.
Otherwise, you'll have to find a storage facility with a locked gate to keep it there.
A place near me, I noticed, has that arrangement. People have cars, pickup trucks, RV's parked there for long term storage.
Fed up with rent, want to drive trucks

You’re going to need a physical address, to get your CDL. Your new CDL will get you 4yrs with that address.
If you like where you live, seek out a company close to there. You don’t want to have to deal with storage of a truck. It’s a headache.
Once you settle on an employer, find out the school(s) they partner with. Then, go talk to them about their program, costs, possible tuition assistance programs. With you being an immigrant, there might be further programs available to those immigrants seeking employment in a needed occupation.
I wouldn’t give up your housing until you’re employed and settled into the industry, at least a year. If you give up your housing and things don’t work out in trucking, you’re homeless. Once that happens, it’s tough to come up with the money to secure another place, because you’re already struggling.
Your chosen employer will have employee parking for your car. If you don’t want to leave it sit outside, you can get a 10’X20’ storage unit and park it inside. Just grab an Uber to work.
You’ll need a PO Box for your mail. Switching everything to paperless billing is an easy way to minimize mail.
I temporarily moved into a motorhome, full-time, which has similar requirements as living in a truck. After a year, it was no longer working out.
There’s something to be said for having a place to go home to, that’s not a box on wheels. I have a really nice rental house that’s a refreshing place to walk into, when I’m home. I pay ~$1K/month for everything associated with it. But, what it does for my mental well-being is worth it. You need to give a lot of thought to what you’re wanting to do.Long FLD, Another Canadian driver, Awara and 2 others Thank this. -
If you drive then you don’t need a home that’s in a higher rent district
It can be anywhere
So find a cheap place or even a room for rent then you have an address and a spot to park your car and it might be close to the same money for that than a storage place for it
You can be on the road for weeks or months and bank money but if you don’t get out of the truck and go to your own place or even a nice hotel or resort then at some point you will hate driving
Need to get out and walk away from it
Same with eating. You can save by doing so in the truck and it should also be healthier but you need to spend that $75 or so once in awhile and change it up and not at a truck stop
You’re at the beginning stages and have a ways to go but you’re at least planning and asking
Don’t take all reply’s as fact
Find the middle. Some of us love what we do and others hate it and that depends on you so find the middle in any reply’s but I think in your case you’d like it but the guy who has a newborn or plans every night might tell you otherwiseLong FLD, Another Canadian driver, ducnut and 1 other person Thank this.
