Each contractor or contractor team under the flat rate program is assigned a fleet coordinator. Our fleet coordinators help contractors find load opportunities to maximize loaded and unloaded authorized miles.FedEx Custom Critical pays a FLAT RATE including a fuel surcharge for ALL LOADED MILES.Tractor:$1.65 + fuel surcharge $0.48 = $2.13 ALL LOADED MILES as of 4/16/12.The fuel surcharge is paid on all empty miles as well!
We provide permits and cargo insurance at no charge. Bobtail and physical damage insurance is available at low rates as well.
Attached you will find some additional literature about our company. You should find it helpful in making the decision to lease your truck on with FedEx Custom Critical.

That rate seems very low, considering that you're hauling expedited freight. Too bad they don't offer a percentage pay plan.

Expedited business was really hurt when the economy took a dive . A lot of expedited freight was from the automotive industry . Expedite carriers dropped the rates so it really isn't much more than LTL now .
FedEx Custom Critical also gave their contractors a list of brokers they can use . -

We are leased onto FedEx Custom Critical and are on 59.5% of gross. They only do % for teams. However, freight seems to be dead unless you want to run for .90-$1.00 a mile. We have ran 4 loads in 2 weeks and they all have been under 900 miles. Sorry but being a tractor team with Hazmat, those rates/miles are NOT acceptable to us. We have been on with them for 2 years and are now looking at different companies. Yes they now have Fleet Coordinators. Well they are not worth the paper their title is written on. We have been stuck in Mississippi for over 2 days and contacted our FC and she told us we can only move if we are willing to move for .90 a mile!!!! They do have a broker list which only has 17 brokers on it, all of which are the absolute lowest paying brokers in America. They charge $47.50 per week for plates, $35 per week for Qualcomm on top of your insurances. Which all together you have approx $200.00 per week of expenses. And this is after you have paid your escrow. The recruiters are VERY nice people but who wouldnt be when their job is to make it sound good to get trucks in there??? Once you're on board.....you will see that probably 8/10 people you talk to, treat you like total crap! If you break down while under a load, they will complete a swap n tell you to call when you're back in service. They prove on a DAILY basis that they care NOTHING about their drivers, strictly their freight! Well without drivers, you wouldn't have freight! Don't get us wrong, when they get in a "jam" they have paid $3.00 a mile but it is only when they are are on the edge of losing a customer. They allow NO riders under 18 yrs old even with solo drivers. And you have to give them 4 free hours if detention before you get a penny! And some customers are on a special rate and you end up sitting for hours to get pennies! And of course, they take their chunk of the detention too!!! They also tell you it is non forced dispatch but if you refuse a load they are desperate to move, you get punished and end up sitting!! Hope this helps you out. Feel free to message me again if we can answer anymore questions.
