I live in Alabama, do they have a DDC in B`ham or will i have to go to Atlanta?Also, what kind of pay does a newbie start out with FedEx Freight& how often do they get a raise?
FedEx freight is not a good company. Is a huge corporation into wich you will not get anywhere, specially as you get older they will find a way to get rid of you. West palm beach terminal uses security personnel for everything in order to find ways to get you out, Wether you've missed del appt due to traffic or missed too many days for being sick even with doctors notice they consider that unexcuse a regardless. Manager in wpb terminal was once talking to a fellow employee wich was overheard that he would love to have a confederate flag flying in front of his FedEx building.manager name is Bradd. There is also a driver that's Colombian that's always watching listening and rats out other drivers he does it in order to kiss butt and this way he feels secure to keep his job. But this is only in WPB terminal as far as I know. We need a Union in this terminal. I think the whole corporation of FedEx should be union. The employee books says it all, they are under no contract with employees there for they can fire you anytime for anything. Except for ethnic or religion. They can change they're policies at any time regardless. The wpb terminal is based on snitches. Manager is very prejudice but is good in keep n it just between his special drivers. His also got his favorite security interrogator from Miami that they both have lots in common and his favorite human resource lady. Trust me you have no protection as a driver. But like everything else, some of you will learn the hard way. Pension plan is only a portable pension after 20 yrs you'll get 50.000 that's all and goodbye. No more checks. Wait for your soc sec. Oh and your fedexfreight east Vanguard 401k wow now in days lots of company's that are non Union have that with vanguard I know ESTES does and is all basically same 6 percent match. So if you can get at least 40 hrs have at least 100 taken out every week, hopefully you'll take 400 home a week or maybe 500. That's if you work everyday and get lucky to get 40 for the week. Iam still here cause ive been here since it was American freightway but this place sucks fedexfreight is crap. Good luck to all of you. My cousin is been working at UPS freight for 6 yrs now and takes home over 160 more than me and I've been at FedEx freight for almost 16 yrs now. So yes A Strong UNION will change everything in FEDEX. Use your brains people you work for a living
Fedex is a great company if your not a slacker and can pull your own weight which most do here, plenty of opportunity for someone with a good head on their shoulders to become a driver. Its best to start part time dock worker then after 90 days probationary period ask or by then you will have learned the details on attending the 6 week driver course where you assist the senior driver during the day, you get paid $15 hr. But the weeks may be spread apart 2 here and 4 there as business needs permits.
