Fairly confident your nephew will be safe. Not sure how long he's been here, but after 27 years, I've seen these cycles. Express has always run the airline lean on crews and used overtime to make up the shortfall. We are still planning on hiring and interviewing in January.

Watertown, eh? My wife was born and raised there, and her father is retired from the Watertown PD.

It’s Express. But I did read an article that both departments may be doing furloughs. In Fed Ex Express’ case they’re retiring some of the older aircraft in the fleet sooner than they expected because of the economic downturn. The MD-10s and MD-11s will be the first to go,as they’re the oldest aircraft in the fleet(and both trijet types are considered to be fuel thirsty).Last edited: Nov 28, 2022
REO6205 Thanks this. -
Nothing new from niece's husband. He's still working but there haven't been the extra trips thag usually come up this time of the year.
LOL...I told him we'd put one of the old Stearmans back together for him and he could help us with rice this year but he very graciously declined. Years ago he worked one season for my Dad, flying a Pawnee on a mosquito control contract, but he never really had a big interest in it.mjd4277 Thanks this. -
Next time offer him a Pilatus PC-12 or a Mitsubishi MU-2,that’ll put some hair on his chest (and possibly other areas)!LMAOREO6205 Thanks this.
