I came across this just now. Maybe "viral" is the wrong word, but Reddit is a pretty big website so I'm sure FedEx higher ups can't be happy about this post making the front page of Reddit today. I'm thinking of going into LTL, and I wanted to ask - Surely this standard isn't the norm in LTL, right?

For companies like Old Dominion, Estes, UPS, they don't operate like this, do they? I thought FedEx was supposed to be one of the better companies too? I know FedEx is a household name just like UPS is among the general population (whereas Estes and Old Dominion aren't, not for the general public anyways).

I've only done OTR driving (both reefer and dry van for the same company) and maybe I've just been lucky, but I've NEVER seen a trailer this badly loaded before where it looks like stuff was just thrown in at random. I hauled stuff mostly stuff on pallets and if they weren't on pallets then it was very organized. I never saw anything that was like this.

None of that has anything to do with LTL. It doesn’t even have anything to do with CDL driving, all that’s shown is small straight trucks.

Anyone who knows the difference between the different FedEx companies will tell you that Ground is the least desirable one to work for. Which, again, is not an LTL company.
