I'm looking to get into the FedEx ground linehaul division. Are there any current contractors on here that have and information or contacts on any routes/contracts available in Texas, preferably around the Dallas area? Dedicated or unassigned or even spotting would be ideal.

Not sure, you could try @miss elvee I think they did CC for awhile, which is FedEx Custom Critical, I believe.. or maybe it was @blairandgretchen ... i get the husband and wife teams mixed up and I apologize to y'all immensely. My wife still drives a school bus but has her CDL-A / p.... hoping she takes the quantum leap in Feb or March.
I drove for Linehaul back in 03, for a guy named Harold Clemmons here out of Ohio. He was amazing, and I would've stayed longer, but my team-mate and I had NOTHING in common, especially hygiene (or the lack thereof) and he smoked, and I don't. Other than that, it was DANG good money, back then, even!
We ran from CMH to SMF Monday thru Friday, teams, Weekends off. For back in the day, the bucks were big; probably better now. I can dig up his number as I'm pretty sure he still does it, here in Ohio, and if nobody else answers your posts, you can ring him up (or I can do it for ya.)
It's really a decent job, for starters and teams anyway. I hope someone in your area answers, but it wouldn't hurt to put an ad on Craigs... with your location and your hopes of getting into the biz. I had a few years OTR when I got into the wiggle wagons, MVR, PSP, DAC, and incident-free, so he snagged me up, LoL.
Hope this helps. Not a direct answer, but I'm at a dock using my new Amazon Fire Stick or something on wife's tablet, and can acually type better than a phone, haha!
Best of luck; leme know if I can help more~

Why dont you just go with a ltl company. some ground contractor dont offer benefits.
LTL company always hiring in dallas. Try estes, r&l carriers, saia, ups, fed ex freight, old dominion and XPO LogisticsG13Tomcat Thanks this. -
DID you try to ask FedEx to help you find an owner to talk to?
Get the right person and they will provide a lot of info.
Custom Critical is part of the freight division if I remember right but they are more or less isolated. -
Finding the right contractor is critical. I did in the NY area and it made all the difference. Most don't offer benefits so going with one of the carriers would be a good decision if that's important. If you have medical through your wife or through the VA , then it's not a deal breaker. The steady runs, steady pay and start times are great. The freight doesn't slow, just gets more busy. We just finished the holiday season and I worked 12 hour days, 6 days a week, but made good money doing it. If your reliable you can get an extra run, or if not, you won't wait, like some who run like slugs and complain all the time, to get your trailers. Have a good relationship with the dispatcher by being there on time, doing what you're assigned to and they'll take care of you. They did for me when I came back and showed them I could do the work and do it quickly, efficiently, with no hassle and no pains on their part.

Their peak time of the year is just passed. However, many contractors are looking for drivers year around. Look at their website or craigslist.

If you have a good record you will be in high demand. We have gone through some real winners where I am and the good ones have the benefit of getting the routes you want.
I've told my boss to use a better one for drivers. We find the idiots more than not using that website. I never thought of using it until he said that he advertises there.G13Tomcat Thanks this. -
^^^ And again, gents (and ladies!) we wait for the OP .... I don't have any
atm!! Keep me posted, LoL.~

Yup, it's still good money running. Call the local FXG terminal and talk to line haul, they'll get you over to terminal management. They can get you a list of the contractors that run out of there. Easy.
Yup. They're always hiring. Switchers don't make anything. But the teams do.G13Tomcat Thanks this. -
I'm a FedEx LH contractor in CA. If you're looking to drive for a contractor, the best suggestions from above are 1) Craigslist (look at ALL of the ads to see what the market is, rates, benefits, etc., 2) call Linehaul (I might be able to get you a number if needed) or 3) referral to a contractor from others here (best).
If you're looking to become a contractor, let me know...I'm interested in TX as well.
