I thought I had a few missing pages on the FCC thread that disappeared. Went to read them today and had only like 8 messages.

I’m doing what is considered local work this week/pay period. It started on Saturday night. I was asked to help out and run one of the “local” drivers route this week. It consists of Humboldt to Dyersburg. Dyersburg to Olive Branch. Olive Branch to Dyersburg. Dyersburg to Memphis. Then Memphis to Humboldt. Saturday night I hooked a set and took it to Olive Branch then hooked a set in Olive Branch back to Humboldt. Sunday I did Humboldt to Newbern to Memphis twice. So…
Saturday and Sunday total miles were
    626. This week is 433 per day for a total of 2165. In total for this week will be 2791. It’s nice counting miles in this fashion. Anything over 2000 is bonus miles at $1.00 per mile.

I’ve decided to stay out until the 27th. I want to be home for Easter and spend it with my mom and the rest of the family. It’s a gift that after what my 89 year old mom went through with her cancer, we get another holiday with her. We are so blessed.

Way to go JohnBoy. Family time is very precious and you can't get back any of it if you miss out now. My wife and I have lost both of our parents and we travel to visit our children many times during the year. I'm 75 this year and time is slipping away slowly. Enjoy it.

My week of local running ended last night at 11:30. I start up again tomorrow at 1pm. I haven’t been told if I’m running local next week or not. Here is some useless information I garnered this past week doing this local work. I drop and hooked a total of thirty 53 footers, built 2 sets of doubles, worked a total of 56 hours, was done every night right at 11:15 and the most I worked in one day was 9:03 hours. I ran a total of 2779 miles. I am paid off of my trip buddy app. I take a snapshot of every dispatch that shows the trip miles and that’s what it came out to. I will have a reset in when I start tomorrow. My OPS boss called me this morning and told me to get a motel on his dime if I wanted one. I declined. I put fuel in the truck twice this week so I have 2 shower credits. Actually, this is the first time since January 2 when I started that I’ve fueled at a truck stop. I occasionally have to slap myself to make sure this is all real. In a nutshell, there is no way on this rock I could have ever made this type of money for such an easy job at the other company. Even with running those 4200 mile trips with 4-6 drops, it couldn’t compare to this gig. And here I’m basically staying in Tennessee running 2200-2800 miles per week with a guaranteed salary. I do tell the wife at times that I can’t believe I was so dedicated at the other job that it took 10.8 years for the blinders to come off. I have fond memories that I will forever carry with me about the other job, but the truth be told, this job is the perfect compliment with what I want and need in my life now.

It’s nice to find a place where your only complaint is you wish you would have found it sooner.

I don’t know if there was a thread on here or not but I do know cardinal was bought out by rider. I’ve also been told that they have over 300 trailers for sale sitting in the lot in Newnan Georgia.

Right. My problem is that I want to kick myself every so often for not listening to a bunch of you and made a better effort to find a job like this. But, in all honesty, I did find this job last April when the hardest running team made the switch and called me about it. I was hesitant and decided to wait while they had 6 months in. Meanwhile, the other 4 top teams went and found a diamond in the rough. So I finally pulled the trigger in December.

I’m thinking this post was put in the wrong thread. Can one of the Mods correct this?
