Got back to the truck Monday. Landed in Memphis at 6:15pm, got an Uber to the Olive Branch hub and picked up one of our trucks that needed to get back to Humboldt. Got back to our hub about 10pm. Offered to do a Memphis turn and got done at 3:30 Tuesday morning. It’s very obvious I’m a greedy SOB. Got a full days pay for Monday, worked 4 hours Tuesday and got a full days pay as well. Wednesday I started at 4pm and just got done.

Was home for a week and got everything done at the house to put it on the market. The only thing left is getting the inside painted which was started today. They’ll be done on Friday. House will be on the market after we get back from our cruise on the 20th. Exciting times in Mr. and Mrs
Johnboy’s life, I can taste retirement.

 

Should have found this job 10 years ago, I would have been retired 5 years now.

 

Sitting at the KW dealer here in Jackson. Right headlight went out last night. Of course it’s much more detailed than a simple bulb change. The wiring harness need’s replacing on the right side. I had the same thing done on the left side in January. That was $1300. It’s days like this that I am so thankful for being on a guaranteed salary. Right now I’m getting paid to drink coffee and watch The Price is Right in the lounge. Going home Wednesday for 2 weeks of vacation. Flying to NY a week from today with my wife for my 50th HS reunion. Then leaving on a cruise out of Manhattan. Just got the call, truck is done.

 

I was. The brain trust thought I needed this thing back. So here we are, a match made in heaven.

 

The deer broke the KW. Because of me splattering Bambi all over Hwy 79A, we now can’t go that way anymore.
