I was thinking about going to them as a o/op driving tractor trailers . My question is I don't have enough money to buy a truck , so if I lease a tractor from penske or ryder . Would I still make out good with overall money ? Their paying drivers 93 cents per mile and guaranteed 2400 miles a week ! Any info would help me a lot , thanks !!!!

Let's see, 2400 miles X $.93 a mile = $2232 - 480 gallons of fuel at $4.00 a gallon = $1920 in fuel alone. Yeah, your making money..............Hope you get the truck and insurance for free......

I'm not an o/o and never had been but I know that even at $1.20 mile is rip off,so .93 cents a mile,....not even worth trying...:biggrin_25513:

Isnt fedex ground all O/O's anyway. But .93c a mile is low as all hell. But there has to be more devil in the details, as there are guys running and making money.

Yes its all o/op , I'm actually making good money now with fedex freight but I was just looking into it to see if I could get more money !! My friend is a diesel mechanic so repairs wouldn't be a big deal. I really want more money and less work !!!! That's what its about right !! Work smarter not harder ????

Even if you take fuel out of the equation the cost per mile is going to be a dollar or better when you add up all the costs. My cpm is currently 1.66

You need to stay in a company truck. Owning and running a business, any busineSS not just trucking, is twice the hours/work of driving for someone else. Your mechanic friend will run and hide from you lol
