Just graduated and got my cdl. I'm thinking of going with KLLM. I'm from the Atlanta area and understand there's a orientation site around? Any feedback would help me decide. Any info on orientation would be appreciated.

What do you want to know?
They got 1,200+/- trucks, allot of which are lease operators. They do push the lease program a little and your not likly you suceed at the lease.
They do orientation out of the Atlanta terminal if i rememeber correctly. They have Freightliner Cascadias and Columbia's. Detroits, 10 speed Eaton Fullers. Some have APU's they don't allow power inverters although some drivers have gotten the shops to install them....so hit or miss on that.
They are a reefer carrier....lol I dont work for them oviously but they were my #3 choice.
American Truckerpincrazed1 and xllxmrjohnxllx Thank this. -
What were your first 2?

#1 was Watkins Shepard
#2 was Roehl only above KLLM because KLLM has been going down hill since the origional owner bought the company back a year or so ago. Before then KLLM was a great place to start. It still isnt bad from what i've heard but the miles have gone down, the company drivers get the old run down trucks, they push their new crappy lease. They're old lease way actully a good deal, but they have doubled the payments since i first started looking and following them in early 2009

I have ROEHL on my short list also! any feedback on them?

Lots of old crappy equipment, not the best on miles.
BUT
1)they are starting to get some new equipment again
2)They have APU's on most of their trucks
3)They have lots of differant devisons so you can try out differant areas of trucking without job hopping
4) they allow power inverters
5) No volvos (i hate volvo's)
They good out weighs the bad so they are a decent place to start, oviously i dont have any personal experiance with them, but after years of being on here and talking to their drivers on the road i have a pretty good idea of how they operate.
I would still go with Roehl over KLLM, but either way you could do MUCH worse then either of them...
If you go to the KLLM section RoadToad is great with giveing straight up no BS info on KLLM, but she isnt on much anymore. But if you read through her post you will see how years ago how much she loved KLLM and nows shes just waiting to pay of her truck and take it else where...
