Thats right. I ran mine so I didn’t hear anyone more than 1/2 mile away. Too often squelch would block out weak signals that were close by. I don’t know much about CB radios. Just how I ran mine. If someone wasn’t within eyesight, I didn’t want to hear them.

Doin so does not tune the ant,all that does is set up tje radio to read what ant is doin..Doing so will tell you to shorten or lengthen ant to meet required swr which is 1.5 or lower..
Usually 1 and 40 will be slightly higher than 19 which is what you want.......If you run local and have a different channel you like to run then same process but use fav ch as your middle ch and go from there..Another Canadian driver, Rideandrepair and spindrift Thank this. -
