Ive had my cdl 16 years. However,my work history is sporadic due to me being in and out of prison since 1995. Does anyone know a trucking company who may be willing to look the other way or not judge so quickly?

Carolina Cargo (refrigerated) and PI&I Motor Express (flatbed) hire felons & ex-cons. These 2 outfits recruit at some cdl schools for drivers right out of prison or with criminal history.
There's a few more that do also.
Which state do you live in?
    Apply with :
    Carolina Cargo (refrigerated)
    PI&I Motor Express (flatbed)
    TransAm (refrigerated)
These companies bend the rules on what the website may have. Do the online application then follow with a phone call.

Thank you Chinatown. I live in st.louis,Missouri. Been out of work for three months. A friend of mine suggested BTC TRUCKING. However I just found out they do background checks through HireRight and my research shows that is a pretty thorough background and past employer search. Again...thank you for the info/leads.

Be honest on your application. If you aren't currently on parole or probation, depending on the company, it may not matter. Swift sent .e to company paid training and hired me on and I have a drug trafficking charge. You would be surprised. For the companies who care, they won't hire you anyway. For the companies who don't care, they will find out you lied and won't hire you. Just be honest. Swift used both Hireright and Assurint. They still hired me and gave me free training. I'm out with my mentor now and it is already confirmation that I am in the right career. Even the things that people are always complaining about don't bother me all that much yet.

Chinatown gave good suggestions. Carolina Cargo will hire anyone. Almost every company will work with you depending on what the felony was. If they can insure you, they will hire you, for the most part.

I served ten years for a robbery beginning in 1995. I caught a stealing over 500 in 2010. That sentence commutes on Dec.22 this year. I had a drug problem most of my life and made many mistakes. I've now been clean for 27 months and realize.......i REALLY messed up my life. I'm now on track and just need chance to prove myself. Thank you to everyone who replied. This is actually the first time I've been in a forum and think its great. Again..Thank You to Everyone.

I hit the thanks button because I do believe you're trying to change your life around, that's a major start. But will trucking companies think the same thing, maybe maybe not.The companies member are listing, give them a call and see what they say.Twenty seven months may be too soon depending on their policies.I suggest at least try and don't depend on the forum for help.Start calling around.Google second chance trucking companies.

    torrekuelker Thanks this.

Depending on the extent of your convictions btc might hire you. Most of these large companies use hire right for background checks. Your best bet if interested in btc, call and ask to speak to Aaron. He's a good guy, and won't bs you.
