Do the online applications first, then the phone call. This way, when you call, they can pull up your application on the computer screen and get right down to business.

Once you are off Probation or Parole most States allow you to Petition the Court to Expunge or Plea your Case down to a Misdemeanor or even Dismissal.

The results vary depending on the State the Convictions were in.

Even if they reduce the convictions to a Misdemeanor, it's still better then a Felony.

    Good luck!!!!

You could by pass all the time filling out paperwork by simply calling a professional recruiter like CDL jobs or Bubba Junk and ask them do they have any clients that will hire a driver with a felony record. I do know for fact there is a time restriction due to federal laws that may apply, that plus there are two criminal databases that trucking companies use other than hireright USIS. Having a CDL for 16 years will not matter when your Background investigation contains armed robbery, assault and battery or a felony Drug Conviction.

You will need a minimum of 5 years of no warrants or arrest and release from custody before an application can be considered by any of the so called National Carriers.

Your best bet is try local rock or water hauling out in the boonies.....pay is dirt cheap!

All you need is a chance. Once you get back in the industry and prove yourself you will be alright. Others have mentioned some names that will probably give you that chance. Good luck and welcome to the forum!

The flat reality is that, right now, you are more viable to many (if not all) trucking companies than the guy in the other thread who refused a urine test. I started at a mega, and went through school with someone who had drug and robbery convictions on his record. You can get hired if you want it enough.

Swift will hire anyone. Your biggest problem will be your short temper if you have one, Truck driving takes patience, If your easily irritated you wont make it on the road, Prepare for BS and A-holes, People will try your patience. Just let their words roll off you and remember it's just a job.
