Be prepared to get told "No way" with your conviction. My husband is also a SO and his conviction was in 1992. He also made a stupid mistake and has since become a most wonderful husband and father. He does not have to register as a SO. But, that mark is like the plague. He is still in CDL school and has applied to all the major carriers that consider Maine in their hiring area. This includes all the usual ones..CR England, Schneider, Prime, etc. The 3 afore-mentioned even said no. Out of 26 he applied to, only 2 would even consider him and they are at the bottom of the food chain as well (extremely low pay, horrible reviews, etc.). When he graduates, he plans to go door-to-door to local companies to see if that makes any difference. So far, pretty discouraging. I hope your experience is better. We are not going to give up, and I don't recommend you do either, but be prepared to face the closed doors.

Every time I see these threads I think to myself here we go again another wannabe to ####### lazy to even do a search on a forum.

The mods really outta block any new threads with the word Felony in them. Probably save them a lot of time.

ALOT of things were "normal behavior " for thousands of years, and as times change we change things here and there... This type of conversation will always be provocative,I'm sure bc people have different opinions. And most of all it's all " fun and games" til it's your daughter.... Unfortunately every female is "someone's" daughter.

Just my opinion but I don't think a 19 yr old is capable of reasoning any better than a 15 yr old, statistically he was on the same mature level as the female, and if that was my son,I'd be upset too.
But hopefully he will be able to get through the #### that is ahead of him. As far as people's quick to judge attitude. I can see where this scenario could happen ,but I have zero tolerance for anyone above that age perusing a minor, period. But those kids were both teenagers. Just an unfortunate situation.

You know what? I see repeats for almost every single question/comment in this forum. Why pick on the person who is trying to better themselves? Really? Search anything and look at the amount of hits you get. Some people can be quite nasty. "Mean people suck.' Just get your nose out of the post if you don't have anything constructive to say. Didn't your mother teach you "If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all?"

I'm all for throwing a little heat at posters when warranted, but a 19 year old kid having sex with a 15 year old kid probably shouldn't even be prosecuted. The day you expect the average 19 year old boy to make well reasoned decisions regarding sex is the day you're going to get disappointed.
