I also have a friend that has a felony. He is a great guy that made one mistake. He works for a small trucking company. His boss would sing his praises every day! He works harder because he feels like everyone is waiting for him to screw up. I agree that there are people who continue to repeat their mistakes, but one time if you learn and want to move on I am glad there are some people willing to give him and others a chance!

I think if you make mistakes if you want to change, opportunites should be open up. why cant more people be like Jesus Christ, or Buddha, and let Forgiveness take a hold of their lives? Why do businesses and corporations, and people in general want to hold others back? it's a horrible idea and it reverses humanity back. Maybe im full of kumbaya, and tree hugging right now. but If people want to change, it's like the prodigal son, when he woke up and smelled the coffee, they welcomed him back with open arms. Why cant society be that way.. Is it THAT easy to hate?

I agree, I too have changed my life, I believe I'm a better person because of the troubles in my past. I have felonies, but I also have almost 5 years sober, have worked with other alcoholics to achieve the same. I have an associates degree, my cases have been set aside, one case is in the process still. I believe in second chances and that people like my self are of high value to any company, we push hard to succeed and would cherish the opportunity more than most could ever imagine. The laws need to change, it would not only help people to succeed but it would also help the economy as a whole. I start school in a couple weeks and driving is what I'm going to do one way or another, and it's in my blood!

No, absolutely not. My landlord was singing the praises of one guy was was in jail. Landlord says guy always had money and always paid rent on time. No kidding.

Well, this guy was released last week and my neighbor gave him a place to stay. I thought is was a very bad idea for a 2 time con. The next morning neighbor catches con cooking meth inside house.

Selling drugs is not a one time thing. Cops don't catch but a small number of dealers. Many dealers have hundreds or thousands of illegal transactions to their name before getting caught for maybe 3 of them.

With so many qualified folks competing for a diminishing number of jobs out there.... employers are looking for a reason to cull the herd, so to speak.

There is a difference when time has shown a change in someone's behavior, by accomplishments and such, change doesn't happen over night! And the ones that work hard to change and better there lives and that have learned from there mistake deffinately deserve a second chance

I'm 12 years removed from driving and starting from scratch with an almost 18 yr old felony, and trying to do whatever I can to avoid some of the companies most seem to start with.

I don't know if I trust that site with all the info I gave it, I did keep my SSN out of their database, but when ahead and filled the rest and have applications out to around 18 companies. Took about 25 minutes to fill the app out and was much quicker than trying to hunt companies down one by one and fill out apps one by one.

    Again, thanks for the lead.

And just a random FYI here - Many browsers come with spell check built in, IE I dont think has that option- but I havent used IE in a decade so am unsure- but the browsers which don't have spell check have add-ons which then add spell check. A lot of you need this. Grammar does count. And paragraphs, they are (they're, not their, not there) are kinda awesome and make posts so much more readable. Discover them, they are your friend.

    Good day all.
