Jeeze man, some people make mistakes in their lives, clean up and try to get their life together. For me, trucking has been a dream of mine since I was 18. At 18 I found age discrimination in the trucking industry (really insurance was the problem), then I traveled a lot, got in trouble, and then caught a series of 9 felonies in 3 criminal episodes. I've wanted this BEFORE I got stuck on stupid.

I'm still finding it impossible to get a job, and I'm 1 week out from taking my skills test

Look Winchester Magnum, good people make bad decisions, and get caught for them and turn their life back around, trucking is an industry that is attractive to what you call "the felon type". It's easy training, and good for them to get their life back on track. An ex-felon is not a bad person, usually. It just means they've made mistakes in their life more serious than the ones you made or didn't get caught for.

You do stupid things when you drink, and if yo do drugs, you steal. But there comes a day when (some of us) hear that loud pop from there head exiting there anal cavity. Been clean 10 years, and am still judged like I never changed. I hold myself accountable for my actions, and must live with the consequences. Getting a decent job is a challenge.

Bad judgement. Mistakes. The wrong crowd. Things happen Krooser. Things happen. Are you perfect? Have you ever told a white lie? Have you EVER cheated on your logs? Do you EVER speed, even in your car? People make mistakes, some more serious than others, some fall into a bad time in their life and don't find positive people to help them out of it, and when they finally do get out of it, serve their time, get out, and try to turn their life around there's people like you who essentially say "you messed up, oh well"

Yes. I did some bad things 9 years ago, and yes I DO take personal responsibility for my actions, but there comes a time when enough minimum wage is enough. Let someone move on with their life and make better LEGAL money.

But being close minded is fine Krooser. Your free to be that way.

I'm 43 yrs old. First time I rode in a Semi, I was 3 yrs old. Sittin on the doghouse of an old bullnose KW I was in charge of the Jake Brake and the Horn. I was an important part of that operation. Hauling livestock with My Daddy Jim. I've loved Big Rigs since I was a little girl. Half of my family are Drivers/Owner Operators and or Small Business owners. I've wanted to obtain my CDL and do some OTR Trucking for many yrs. But sometimes life gets in the way and things happen that aren't always justice served. And guilty or not being convicted of a felony again, isnt always justice being served. And good luck getting your life back! Good things happen to bad people and bad things happen to good people. And life keeps happening, so you do what you can to Rise Above. And judgemental individuals such as yourself that shuns others by their mistakes or misfortunes, based on what you think you know need be reminded thats The Facts & specifics are The Rest Of The Story. Count your Blessings. When your trying to start your life over, its not a last resort, its a new beginning. Whether its a life long passion or a possible opportunty for growth and change get back on your feet again and get your life back. Trucking isnt a sporting or gaming industry last I was aware of. Try a little kindness. There are more individuals in the free world that are prisoners of self than there are behind bars. WHY ???????

Lol just for you people that think all felons shouldn't get a 2nd chance. Say that very loud just before you place your order in at a restaurant. See what happens to your food. As the saying goes if you do the crime do the time. Unless I am missing a step the JUDGE decides the time no one else. Do judge a book by its cover you could be surprised!!
