I got an offer from FFE but since I didn't go through a trucking school they don't work with they want me to go to Texas to do 2 weeks of training before I get on a truck with a trainer. No pay for the 2 weeks and they want me to sign a one year contract to driver for them. In return I won't have to pay anything for the refresher course throughout the year. Worth it? Or should I keep looking?

a newbie here but i am thinking about going with them myself...i don't mind signing a contract....i signed one when going in the military....from what i can tell they are one of the few companies that for one don't have as many complaints against as others do and they don't take anything out of your check each week for tuition...i will glady drive for one or so for that....450 is better than 10 a week...just my thought

..BR you didn't mention if you have a CDL already, I'm assuming by what you said about the trucking school you do, so I would keep looking.. I see you're in Fontana so you shouldn't have a problem starting with some starter companies that do the I-5 runs like May, GTI, & Interstate.. I know May has a much better starting pay of .30 a mile then a raise to .35 after 6 months; FFE starts at .28/.29 I believe & not much of a raise after 6 months, I think it's up to .30 but it may be a bit more now, not sure but ask the recruiter to find out, it will make a big difference in pay in 1 yr.
