Well to start off im 22 and since I was a kid I wanted to be a truck driver. I figured out insted of dishing out 3k for cdl school il just do company sponsered training and get my license threw them.

Right now the companys im concidering are, central refrigeration, WSE, stevens trucking. What are the pros and cons with these companys? I know I have to sign a contract to work with them for a year for most companies. I figured id get my 1 year exp going otr so why not get my training paid for n work it off then try n go reg or local after I get my 1 year.

Any advice is greatly appriciated. I was told to go to a truck stop n talk to some company drivers which I plan on doing. I have 1 careless driving ticket about almost 4 years ago n no dui or dwi no record or arrest.

    Thanks everyone

Stevens requires you to be 25. Which area do you live in?? I would look very closely at Prime as well. MCT's school is another option.

Im in new jersey. I spoke to a recruiter at roehl they said I'm not in there hiring area. Usx ive heard alot about the forced teaming and I want to run solo. I looked at ffe because there in jersey too. I looked at prime but they make you team with a trainer for 4 to 6 months after you get you graduate from thier school. Also swift does the slip seat making you swap trucks alot. I know I can't be too picky but I want to go with a good company that isnt going to give me too much bs

I don't have 3 grand to pay for school lol that's my main problem.

I've heard tons about how much otr trucking sucks but I also have heard that for some they love it. I've always wanted to drive since I was younger n with this economy I can't really find anything half decent.

Im not married and don't have any bills besides my cell phone so my plan is to save as much as I can on the road and buy a rig n become a O/O but I know that's far from easy to manage n the expenses your guna need to have the money to stay operating
