Has anyone filed against a bond for a fee for not using their tracking service? We got hit with a 150.00 fee on an extremely low paying load, back in early May, when rates tanked. We do not allow tracking on our trucks as we are a 24/7 dispatch. It also goes against our safety policy. Can I file for the 150.00 as I tried to give the load back but they did not want to do that as it was an hour prior to loading. I would never have taken the load if there was any thought of a fee for no tracking. They even stated that they had excellent tracking from me on this load and was a on-time delivery.
Filing on bond for non tracking?

When I realized that there was a fine I tried to give the load back and the broker kept saying as long as you update we should be good. But I think where I screwed up was not asking for something in writing. I have asked to listen to the call but for some reason he is not able to pull the phone call. Yet he can pull all the other phone calls.

Bond will be a waste of time. Bonds only cover line haul rates for non exempt commodities like produce.
Any other fees like detention or not following the contract (like not running tracking when it's in the contract) will not be paid.
Now, if it wasn't in the contract, yes just file and see what happens. You can always take it to court, but it will cost more to get that $150 than worth.Last edited: Jun 24, 2020
