Way ahead of you on that one. I went in there last year and asked for myself. I asked about everything including per diem. The tax preparer told me that there is at least one trainer at every hr block location. These instructors show all the other agents there how to do their job correctly. He was a senior instructor there.

Told me its no big deal at all. Its only a longer form they have to fill out ob your 1099. He can get your total gross amount down to almost nothing with all your deductions. Yes he also said lots of truckers do their taxes there including o/o. Alot cheaper than Atbs.

    Excorcist1 Thanks this.

Anything is cheaper than ATBS. The problem with H&R Block, etc is they have poor quality control, and relatively inexperienced preparers. If it works for you that's great. If they make a serious mistake, you're stuck with the financial consequences

Pro-Trucker is right. Depending on who at H & R Block is preparing it. There's alot of local truckers who use them. The best thing is to ask questions and deduct every single cost you know. I had the same questions answered by this post. I was a company driver from Feb to Sept. then O/O till Dec. I knew about lease payments and now I know bout ins payment.
