Company truck. The good news is it's high mileage and will be rotated out soon.

This guy came in late. I guess it's ok if you don't break anything.

Lol, if there is some way to get the DEF hose tied in a knot around the spool so it won't completely unwind, a trucker will find a way...

One YT trucker has a truck with the DEF tank on the right side. He carries a dedicated "spare 'gas' can" that is used for DEF only. That's what I would do instead of puling into the fuel island facing the wrong way.

    That's a lot of suggestions.

So far, I've gone in backwards once, it was odd hours and I pretty much had the place to myself.

I think I might check into the legality of carrying an empty 5 gal jug to use for DEF. I know it's a No-No to haul fuel in a a jug at least I believe it is but if I haul the jug empty I don't think it would be a problem but I'm going to check before I do it. That seems to me like right now to be a pretty good solution.

I'm hoping I'll only have to deal with this issue for a few months cuz like I said this truck has 567 on it now and it can't be long before it's traded in. I'm sure going to miss that manual 10 speed.

Fletch is a lot more concerned about it than he should be.

DEF isn't HazMat. You can carry as much as you want. I wouldn't use a RED plastic gas "can" for DEF. I would get a blue or yellow and write DEF on all sides of it. I probably wouldn't ride around with the spare DEF can full of DEF unless you REALLY secure it from flying off of the truck. The YT trucker I am talking about is a flatbedder so he's got more options to secure gear outside of the truck than the rest of us.

Well, that works for me. I'm pulling open deck too. I've even got a rack for bunks on my catwalk because I'm actually in the pole division but we only run utility poles about 10 to 20%, most is general commodity flatbed Freight.

I just realized today that I've actually been a flatbedder since I was in high school because my first paycheck job besides things like you know mowing lawns, shoveling snow and splitting firewood that kind of stuff, was I worked at a local hardware store / lumber yard, doing deliveries in Chevy C60 I think it was with a 16' flatbed.

Last week I saw a guy at the new loves at columbia Ohio fuel his truck at one island and use the island to his right to fill his def tank .
I was annoyed at first until I figured out what he was doing and I got over it .

Why would you think that? They sell them like that. I haven't seen anything on the box surrounding the jug not to carry it in the truck.

    Roberts450 and G13Tomcat Thank this.
