Going to use in work truck and put the galaxy 33 to rest for awhile. Have another project to work on,bought a Texas Star 400V from a guy at work for $150.00 only used for two months like new and would like to install in my pick up but it too #### cold here. Have it all ready to go but we'll see what tomorrow holds. If wind dies down will get it done and post some pics of install etc.

Oh and if anyone knows where I can find an original face plate for a Cobra 29 LTD Classic would be grateful. No flashy stickers plz want it to be like the stock plate it shows wear on volume and squelch but the rest is near mint...thanks in advance

Noob question what does the rfx-75 do?
What is the difference between rfx-75 and an amp? -
Well it's not an amp just a mosfet replacement final and low pass filter section that can be added to most radios and when doing so creates a much higher output. Most older radios have the 2SC1969 finals in them which are pretty much obsolete these days. While they are still good if you want a stock radio. Some say 50 watts others say 100+who knows. Sorta like taking a Hemi and putting it into a 64 Dart(using as reference from another post) but I think it's kinda cool. Some like them some don't,from what I've seen here have mixed reviews of them but I bought one and just been looking for a decent radio to put one into. Not going to put it in my Galaxy 73V or 33HML will be using them to drive my amp which would smoke the 400V if was installed there. So will be using Phlli made Cobra for work truck. Think it's just something cool to add to an old radio to make it walk the dog and kick the cat with out emptying my wallet. So I spent $100 for radio and RFX-75 and easy enough to install myself besides haven't done one yet so the challenge excites me. CB Tricks has all the diagrams fully detailed so it's not like splitting atoms or rocket science. I will say that I used to build and fly high powered model rockets over 10,000 feet so I guess I am a rocket scientist...somewhat...lol. Thinking about doing a video of a full install of one of these because all the ones you see on web only show before and after like the install is some closely guarded secret. I can solder and follow diagrams,I can read maps too
how hard can it be? There's the can of worms I just opened

it is a amp and not a good one either ...

Looking forward to you install slowride, I'm sure you will enjoy it. If you didn't know already You can buy new faceplated here http://customcbradios.com/Radio-Face-Plates-C211816.aspx?sid=2348 I have a Cobra chrome RFX75 Comp radio and love it, 122 bird watts. Three out of five people I talk to say wow that is one good clean sounding radio. Anything over 2:00 on the dynamic and it starts to be alittle loud though so I keep it turned down.

My understanding was the RFX75 was a final and not an amp.
Sparky used to sell RX75'd Cobra 25's that he claimed would do 100 + watts. -
Well they use MOSFET's and it amounts to 1 driving 3 and that will give you the power people are seeing.

It is a AMP and not a very good one ...... ANYTHING that rases your power over 4 watts is a AMP ..... in this case a FINAL AMP.
I looked into using one on my 10 meter FM radio and it would not have been legal it is just not clean enough. IF IT WAS .... The guys on 10 meters would buy them and mod the many low power radios to the 100 watt level.
I went with a home made amp for 29.600mhz FM under 10 watts from my DR03 in 300 + watts out ......
