Well...it's been awhile since I last posted here. I've been working on getting financing for the best school I could find. I now have my permit and start my 6 weeks of truck driving school with San Jacinto Collage April 2nd.
I decided to go this route after reading that most of you experienced truckers suggested that I pay and get my training myself. Well...since I'm unemployed I was able to get complete financing for the school which was even sweeter.
Soon I'll be looking for a good company to get on with and will again turn to this forum for some great help.
Thank You All
Finally Going To School

Hey Chasser,
Looks like we are neighbours. I thought about taking San jac's CDL classes, but with my work schedual it is just not possible right now.
Good luck, and keep us informed on your progress. I don't mean to get personal... but.... Did they used Stafford Loans for the financing?

No I went through another source. I researched FASFA, The Hazelwood ACT, and Worksource for funding. After getting the run around for a month from Worksource, I had to write My Senators regarding the needless hoops they were making me continually jump through. I got responce from three Senators offices and a call from WorkSource two days later saying I was approved for financial aid. Geeeese.....it's so true. Those of us that need help can't get it, and those that don't do. But... bottom line I finally got funding. Also, it seemed as though FASFA was about to come through also just after the WorkSource did. All I would have had to do was present and complete few more forms and I thing I may have had help from them also.
