i finally just passed my road test at miller air park in berkeley twp near toms river..... I was nervous at first(sweating bullets) but collected myself and got her done.... I have my CDL A with my medical card, tanker and hazmat endorsement. I also went and renewed my twic card so i have a lot of things going my way... I am looking for a job i have no experience over the road however i do have experience jockeying trailer/flatbeds/tankers/reefers in the yard in pennsauken, nj for crowley. i have never got into an accident in those 5 years and i consider myself a very safe driver. If anyone knows any local/regional jobs that are hiring please let me know besides those big companies like jb hunt/us express/schneider. I am trying to stay away from those companies however i wont have a choice after a certain amount of time. any help or suggestions would be much appreciated.... I live right in the middle between philadelphia and atlantic city so any companies in south or central jersey would be awesome... Thanks have great day

    browndawg Thanks this.

Schneider is a pretty good company. Check with Schneider about their intermodal division. Maybe they have something running containers in and out of the Jersey ports and home about every night.

NFI may have something also; they're based in NJ.

    Edit:

Here's some propane companies to check/

    Airgas
    Amerigas
    Ferrellgas

YRC, Holland, new penn try them out. City driver(local) requires the least exp but some of them will let you go linehaul (regional). Just call or go ask the terminal manager in your area.

Oh boy... the forum private investigators (ex: look up any drug testing thread/second chance thread/accident thread) are gonna have a field day with this one... lol

More on point. Would you be interested in relocating? I'm just south of San Antonio working in the oil fields (hauling water) and the paper down here has its own section for truck driving jobs in the Eagle Ford. Some OTR, but mostly oilfield driving jobs. Just an idea. Some even offer training (not for CDL, but to do the actual job). Best of luck.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eagle_Ford_Formation

Name of the oil formation in south Texas. Comparably there is the Permian Basin in West Texas that is big time boom-town right now. Like I said, just ideas. Ideally if your low on funds you'll probably want to stick to your local area. An X endorsement means you can bring home the big bacon. Look into the companies Chinatown mentioned. He's our resident tanker resource.

And no I'm not messing with you. My snarky response was for some of the members who read users the riot act when drugs are mentioned on this forum. Might as well double down and go make a post about which companies do hair testing... (that's a joke. don't do that.)
