I didn't even go in the Petro. I brought a bunch of granola bars and bananas and oranges, wheat thins, swiss rolls, and water. Maybe tomorrow night I'll eat out, but we'll see. I prefer anywhere I can get a nice veggie omelet with spinach and wheat toast, and a nice big glass of OJ.
Finally got my own truck

All that salt and crap they spray on the road, once it gets on your windshield, it doesn't want to come off! And then I use up all my windshield solvent. Good thing by the time I got into MD, it started raining, and washed all that crap off. Ugh. I hate winter.Road Killer Thanks this. -
I'm sooooo proud of you...I cannot even explain it.
Its like watching my lil brother accomplish stuff.
I was reading up on the I-shift and I found that you can hold the desired gear using the -/+ buttons (see video @ 3:40) I'M SURE YOU'VE WATCHED THESE A MILLION TIMES....but hey...I'm yet to get tired of watching, so here goes...lol
Also, does the Owners manual talk about break-in period and using cruise control during that phase?
Road Killer and BoyWander Thank this. -
When taking off after stopping with these heavy loads, I've been putting it in manual mode and shifting it myself. Otherwise it shifts at like 2000 rpms. So I put it in manual mode and shift it much earlier, like 1600-1700rpms. I just click the button and it shifts, and it shifts very smoothly. It's really nice.
Road Killer and nax Thank this. -
Denver is notorious for being cheap cheap on the way out...... however it does get you closer to Arizona!!!!
I'm sure your truck will improve from 5.5 mpg, might take a few 10,000 miles, but if it doesn't you've a problem.Road Killer Thanks this. -
Those computers can sure shift better than I ever could...... I drove one for about 10 months and never grinded a gear, I usually can't go an hour. lolKnucklehead and Road Killer Thank this. -
@BoyWander
You do realize fuel econ sucks in the winter, right?...this is regardless of idling (to keep warm) or steady driving. Heck, I get "crappy" in my Chevy Volt of 38mpg in winter, versus 45mph in spring/fall -- based on computer read-out and having ZERO electric charge...lol
Also, is the fuel econ you mentioned (5.5mpg) based on dashboad readout or calculation of Actual Driven miles/tank fill up?Road Killer Thanks this. -
Dashboard, but I keep track of all my numbers, so when I go home at the end of the month, I'll get all my numbers crunched and figure out close to exactly what I'm avg. mpg wise.
And about taking off from a stop, yeah I could feather it and it will shift a little better. In fact, I don't think I actually stomp on the pedal all the way to the floor.
And yeah I did check out the Economy mode vs. Performance mode. I haven't played around with it but briefly.
And yes it was $1900 to the truck. Minus my boss' 12%, minus fuel, tolls, and all other expenses. I think if I calculate it all, I made $960 profit on this load, but the next one I might have to take for cost. Or even a lossWe'll see in the morning.
Goodnight.Road Killer, mirou and thaistick Thank this. -

The i shift we have will wind out if heavy on the pedal, to get it to shift at 1400 1500 we just let off gas most of the way and it shifts..ours are fleet spec trucks so maybe it's the software.. nice ride btw and good luck..
Road Killer Thanks this.
