He did complete the lvl 3. I have no alcohol or drugs in my truck besides nicotene and coffee.
I'm over it now, Don't care to think about it.
I got a load today from Green Bay to Billings, MT. 25k on the weight. 1120 loaded, $3525 on the rate. $π/mi.
0600 delivery appointment Monday morning at a Sysco, gonna be a long unloading.
I had posted my truck to FL for $3525. Got one call right away from a large carrier, wouldn't go over $2650. I saw later they upped that to $3000.
Then I saw this load posted to Billings for $3000. So I decided to post my truck to FL and also MT. Just fishing. Showing 97 miles away. Had a feeling if I threw my line there, I'd get a bite. Sure enough, not 10 seconds goes by when my phone rings. It's only 1030 am, mind you. It's the same load I looked at. I knew they'd bite. He discusses the load, says it has to pick by 1400. Says he's got $3000 in it. I explain that I did post my truck for a certain rate, he says he did indeed see that, and was hoping I could meet his rate. "Well sir, unfortunately the last time I went to MT," as I chuckled, "I couldn't get outta there!" Told him that if he couldn't find someone to take it, I'd be willing to help.
I told myself they'd call back in half an hour when they couldn't find anyone else. Sure enough, they called back. I knew they would. If they're calling on your truck from 97 miles away in a tight market, at 1030 am, you're likely to get it. I might have been able to get more from someone with deeper pockets. It was a carrier with a brokerage side. Probably their own load they didn't have a truck for. Probably telling the truth when he said they had $3000 in it. How much of a loss will.someone deal with?
Puts me at $7500 gross on 3100 all miles for the week. I think I'll be okay getting out of there. Just depends on getting unloaded. It's paper product in boxes not on pallets. Gonna have to be broken down and put on pallets. Gonna be a long unload and expensive lumper. I have comchecks and no I won't pay for lumper out of pocket.
Goodnight.
Finally got my own truck

The only place they can not search is your personal luggage bag. It must be closed and have an ID tag on it with your name and address on it. They can get a search warrant to search it but other wise they can search the whole truck. We have no rights and the DOT cops are out of control.

Good job on the negotiations and good luck getting a load out. You did the right thing to put that inspection behind you.

I'm pretty much a strict Constitutionalist. I see where it talks about unreasonable search and seizure without probable cause and it doesn't say "unless".
What really gets me is that these guys took an oath to uphold and protect the Constitution, yet their entire job function is to violate that oath. I doubt he or they have any trouble sleeping at night.
Prayers for everyone going through that hurricane down there. It's hovering right over Victoria TX right now. I used to go that way down to Brownsville every week. Looks like it had weakened quite a bit but still letting out tons of rain.MarkH129 Thanks this. -

I like the idea of fueling with cards. Receipts come as a statement to the house. No reason to have incriminating paper in the truck. -
My house is not a truck. A truck is a vehicle on public roads. It in itself could be deadly. My house is off public spectrum. A truck is not, unless you park it on your property and live in it.
