Just make sure they're good filters."Bargain" filters can really cost you in the long run.

Took a week off and then woke up sick this past Monday. Finally feeling good enough to drive. Hopefully get the money load today. I can sit here and hold out. I don't absolutely need the money but let's see what happens.

Also installed the devil device in my truck. Hope it doesn't affect things too badly. It's going to take some more strategy but I think I can handle it. I just don't want to be around when the SHTF on December 18th. I still plan on taking off those last two weeks of the year. I want to see the circus from the sidelines.

You want to be there for those two weeks dude. When you're still young and up-and-coming chaos is a ladder for sure.

You'll have a hard time getting loaded with them. Every shipper I work with has a no-paper-logs policy for the day after the mandate goes into force. They all think *probably correctly* that trucks on paper logs are going to be HUGE liabilities with DOT going forward. I'm sure they will back off if DOT doesn't go out and make too much of a hassle, but nobody wants to volunteer for a shipment to be late.

What shipper is going to take the time to check a truck for a ELD??? I can see where it may be in the fine print of a brokers agreement.

Official policy will exist to inoculate the shippers against hassles from the government as always. But I think that in the immediate aftermath they will be checking. It'll pass within a week or three but they will probably check until it becomes a pain in the butt.
