Using a powered grease gun, air or electric blows out seals. Use a hand pump gun so you don't blow the seals

Don't be afraid to deadhead some miles. Just because you empty out in say Florida doesn't mean you need to load up the crappy freight they offer there.

Knucklehead, Oxbow and nax Thank this.

I own a shop....and no you should not feel violated...you should say thank you...lol

You do realize there's more to costs to a business than just what I paid for the oil, right?

Best way to save $$ is to do it yourself. Hopefully you don't screw up, coz if you do, I'll just add the cost of a repair, to the oil change bill...hahaha

It's funny, truckers wants a cheap oil change, but no one wants cheap freight...or expensive motor repair, from the "cheap oil change"

Well luckily for me if I do screwup I know how to fix it. Seeing as I overhaul the engine myself and do all repairs and maintenance myself.

If you are going to own a truck, you better know how to turn a wrench

You are right about having a shop tho. There is more overhead than some think. Also a lot of smaller shops get stuffed on money too. They do work for local guys that they know, and believe their money is good and extend too much credit. Then all of the sudden the driver owes a $15000 shop bill they can't pay

    Oxbow and Lepton1 Thank this.

@nax Appreciate the fist bump. We gotta be more than just drivers. Business men, mechanics, accountants, know the law. Owner ops have to be more than just drivers.

Not to mention the expelled grease gets blown all over everything driving down the road.

I will always support O/O's. Whether it be advice or suggestions. We need more educated guys out here. I also appreciate any knowledge that others can pass to me. I'm still learning. As I think we should all be. Good luck to us all in the coming years with all the new regs.
