Right now the whole Midwest is bad though, so dont wait till late afternoon, book it around 10-12, when brokers start calling you.
But starting in September, booking after 2pm, you can get $3 without much hassle. Man, I love WI, its just hard to get in there

    Oxbow and BoyWander Thank this.

He's living off of 400 bucks a week.
    That's student driver pay.
That truck is eating up everything else.
He's got 4 1/2 more years of this.

He's already said multiple times to anybody
That will listen to not do What he's doing.
It's gonna be dam near impossible for him to
Keep up this pace for another 4 1/2 years.

Are you doing spot market yourself? There are thousands of people doing the same exact thing he does making 100k and spending weekends at home. There is nothing crazy about it. With experience he will figure out how to have more home time and still make good money

He is living on $400 a week cuz he can. He never mentioned that he is hungry or that he is in need of something to be able to survive. Everyone should live on less than they make it's a simple thing yet so many people are living paycheck to paycheck.

Dropping equipment payments and getting own MC brings up the net quite a bit.
Simple numbers. $16000 gross after fuel. Let's say 4k per month for all truck related expenses. 12k x 12 months =144k net profit. I personally have seen tax return of guy netting 180k after all the expenses, but he also lived in the truck just like OP does, with no days off other than restarts and holidays.

The truck is not eating up the rest, he is only paying himself as much as he needs. The rest is staying in his business.

Technically he's right. The truck is kinda eating the rest because I intend to pay off the truck early.

How much of a backup fund do you have, if you don't mind me asking? I applaud your drive to pay down debt, but cash reserves can be far more valuable than being debt free. Bird in the hand, so to speak.

(edit) That statement was more towards others reading the thread, as a bit of side advice. I haven't seen you do anything I wouldn't do, aside from staying with dry van.
